A Little Something About Me
Hello, and welcome to Grief Anatomy! My name is Andie (Erin), and I’m a passionate advocate for creating spaces where people can explore the profound, often complex, grief journey. As a single parent, a newly minted social worker (BSW), a massage therapist and someone who has walked a tumultuous path of loss and healing, I understand how isolating grief can feel, and how transformative it can be when shared with understanding and empathy.
The idea for this podcast grew out of both my personal and professional experiences. My mother recently passed away in November 2024 violently, and suddenly. In this case, and through work I've seen firsthand how grief manifests in so many ways: the loss of loved ones, the end of relationships, trauma, life events, the passing of beloved pets, and even the grief tied to unfulfilled dreams or societal injustices. Yet, in the face of these losses, one thing became clear—grief doesn’t have a rulebook and most times it does not make sense. It’s deeply individual, yet universally human.
Grief Anatomy exists to break down the silence and stigma around grief, one conversation at a time. Through heartfelt discussions, insights, and shared stories, this podcast delves into the many layers of loss. I hope these conversations will ease the feeling of being alone, aid in grief relief, find comfort in shared experiences, and discover tools to honour loved ones, and ourselves and kickstart the healing journey.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’re here to listen, share, or simply feel less alone, you’re part of a community that understands the depth of loss and the strength it takes to heal.
With compassion,
Andie
